What types of therapy do you offer at Wild Lily Counseling?

We offer adolescent and adult individual therapy for anxiety disorders, eating disorders, stress in the workplace or school, self-esteem issues, and stage fright or performance anxiety. We incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed therapy. We offer this type of therapy virtually in Colorado, Florida and Ohio. We also offer in person therapy in Westlake, OH. We also see clients from all over Cleveland including Rocky River, Bay Village, Avon, Avon Lake, North Olmsted, Fairview and Lakewood, 

Who is Alexis Williams LPC?

Alexis Williams is the senior therapist and owner of Wild Lily Counseling. Alexis is a licensed professional counselor with extensive experience in practice with adolescents, teenagers, and high-achieving adult populations, including professional athletes. Alexis is experienced in anxiety therapy, eating disorder recovery, and stress management.

Do you offer therapy for teens and young adults?

Yes, we do specialize in adolescent and young adult counseling for anxiety issues, eating disorders, school pressure, self-injury or harm, and performance stress. Our counseling is personalized and supportive, and it enables the young people to manage life problems with confidence. We do offer therapy for younger children and older adults as well. 

Do you offer virtual therapy or telehealth sessions?

Yes, Wild Lily Counseling does provide virtual therapy for people in Westlake, Avon, Bay Village, Rocky River, and all over Ohio. We also offer virtual and remote therapy in Colorado and Florida. Teletherapy is very convenient and is a great choice for anyone who wishes to access mental health treatment from home.

Is Wild Lily Counseling accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently accepting new clients for both in-person and virtual therapy. Our Westlake-based practice welcomes teens, young adults, and professionals seeking support for anxiety, disordered eating, and performance stress. We also guarantee that we will follow up with you within 24 hours with an email and text, and will schedule you for a 15 minute complimentary consult within 48 hours of your inquire. Do you work with children, adults, and families?

We work primarily with teens, adolescence, young adults, and individual adults. While we do not offer family therapy, we provide parent consultations to support treatment goals for adolescent clients. Do you offer therapy for professional athletes or high-performing individuals?

Yes, we have experience working with professional athletes and high-achieving individuals facing performance anxiety, burnout, and stress. We have worked with athletes in the NFL, NBA, NCAA and many other areas that require high mental acuity and performance. Our therapy helps clients manage pressure, improve focus, and build emotional resilience. 

What should I expect in my first therapy session?

During your first therapy session at Wild Lily Counseling, we’ll discuss your goals, personal history, and current challenges in a pressure free environment. This initial intake helps us create a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. It also works as an introduction and helps me get to know you and what kind of communication will work best!

Led by Alexis Williams, LPC, and supported by a certified therapy dog, Jack, our Westlake office is a warm, accepting space for genuine healing. We at Wild Lily Counseling firmly believe that we need to find that happy medium between allowing the person to be comfortable and have fun while also being productive and constructive with our time together! 

What is an eating disorder, and how do I know if I have one?

An eating disorder is defined as negative behavior toward food, body image, and self-esteem. The symptoms may be restriction, bingeing, purging, or excessive concern about weight. We provide compassionate, non-judgmental counseling for all eating disorders. We are trained to help and have experience with patients with all types of eating disorders including Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge eating Disorder and all types of restrictive and avoidant food intake disorders. If you suspect you or a loved one is showing any signs at all of developing any of these symptoms, please reach out and we can help!

What’s the difference between disordered eating and an eating disorder?

Disordered eating is abnormal eating behavior and food-related distress that does not necessarily qualify as an eating disorder according to clinical standards. Both need to be addressed, and we provide treatment for anyone at any level of disordered. We help patients with all types of disordered eating and eating disorders in Westlake, Fairview, Rocky River, Avon, Bay Village, Lakewood, Ohio City and all of Cleveland in person. We also offer telehealth and virtual appointments in Ohio, Colorado and Florida. 

Do you offer therapy for binge eating, restriction, or orthorexia?

In total, we assist with all types of eating problems, such as bingeing, skipping meals, and being extremely fixated on healthy food (that's orthorexia). We address both the emotions and the behaviors associated with eating disorders. We offer this help in person for those in Westlake, Bay village, Rocky River, Fairview, North Olmsted, Avon, Avon Lake, Ohio City, Tremont, Lakewood and all of Cleveland. We offer virtual and telehealth appointments to those in Ohio, Colorado and Florida. 

Can therapy help with body image issues and low self-esteem?

Absolutely! Therapy can improve self-worth and help you challenge distorted beliefs about your body and identity. We integrate body image work into treatment for eating disorders and anxiety. If anything, we're good hype people at Wild Lily Counseling! 

What are signs of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)?

Symptoms of GAD include constant worry, restlessness, fatigue, irritable mood, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances. It's like your brain is always on a treadmill and can't take a second to chill out. We find that the causes of generalized Anxiety Disorder are as diverse as the people who experience them. We treat GAD using evidence-based treatments individualized to your personal experience. We help people with generalized anxiety disorder by offering individualized therapy sessions both in person and remotely. 

Do you treat panic attacks and social anxiety?

Yes, we do treat panic disorder and social anxiety with both CBT, exposure therapy, and emotional regulation skills. We also help by really trying to build the person up and build their confidence. Through this process, our therapy helps clients become more aware of their triggers and reducing avoidance behaviors. 

What is school anxiety and how does it show up in teens?

School anxiety in teens can manifest as many physical symptoms such as headaches, stomachaches, inability to focus, avoidance of school, perfectionism, or a variety of emotional outbursts. We at Wild Lily Counseling addresses the root causes and helps teens develop healthier coping strategies and figure out what are the causes of their anxiety surrounding school. We offer this support in the form of therapy sessions both in person and virtually. 

How can therapy help with perfectionism and high achievement stress?

Therapy helps you understand the different aspects of perfectionism and provides tools to set healthy boundaries, manage stress, and redefine success.  Whether you are a professional athlete, a high performing adult or a overworked student, therapy can help identify some sources of stress and perfectionism and how to best utilize the positive aspects of it! 

What is performance anxiety and how can therapy help?

Performance anxiety is often a difficult situation to navigate. This type of anxiety is the fear of failing or underperforming in high-pressure situations like sports, music or theater, school, or public speaking. Therapy helps you manage this anxiety through mindfulness, cognitive strategies, and confidence-building exercises.

What are the signs of self-harming behavior in teens?

Self harm is a serious and often misunderstood sign of a challenging relationship with each persons own self and self worth. These signs of self harm can include unexplained cuts or bruises, wearing long sleeves in warm weather, isolation, and emotional numbness. We have experience working with people who self harm and helping them navigate why they have this urge to harm ones self and how we can utilize a separate set of coping skills. We offer this in our therapy sessions in the Westlake, Bay village, Rocky River, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Fairview, Avon, Avon lake, Ohio city and West Cleveland area both in person and virtually. 

How much does each session cost? Do you accept insurance? 

At Wild Lily Counseling, we are a private pay practice. Sessions with Alexis and Jack are 175 for s 60 minute session and 262.50 for a 90 minute session. We are not directly in network with major medical insurance. However, we aim to best assist with lowering cost of therapy anyway we can. We partner with a company called Mentaya, which allows us to check for out of network benefits. We also offer a limited number of sliding scale and discounted spots to help bring the cost of therapy down. Do you take FSA or HSA?

We accept Flex spending accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA)!

Jack, the real boss at Wild Lily counseling will accompany Alexis on all sessions that are in person (as well as guest appearances remotely) unless otherwise requested. Jack is a trained therapy animal that has 5 years of experience. His emotional IQ is truly unbelievable and helps to make each person at Wild Lily Counseling feel safe, heard and comfortable. We believe that therapy animals are so vital to the healing process no matter what you are going through. Jack is truly the best at what he does!
